More Trout Stocking Information for the Nutmeg State

A bit over 372,000 trout will have been stocked for Opening Day. This year, 100 lakes and ponds and nearly 170 rivers and streams are scheduled for stocking prior to Opening Day. Those waters will be stocked with the following species & sizes:

60,600	brook trout	(10-11 inch)
191,100	brown trout	(10-11 inch)
8,100	brown trout	(12 inch)
300	tiger trout	(10-12 inch brook/brown hybrid)
94,300	rainbow trout	(10-12 inch)
17,500	rainbow trout	(12-14 inch)
1,535	surplus broodstock	(3-10 pound trout – all species)

Try Carp fishing with Marshmallow and Maise you could be surprised with a 30lb. fresh water fish ! Freshen up with new fishing line and please use circle hooks to eliminate a injury. If you are going to fill a void and try for one of the big carp remember, ( NO) lip lock tool or lifting from their delicate gill plates which may be fatal. Use the Carp nets that will save the fish for another fisher.
